The success of your hip or knee replacement surgery depends on many different factors. With moveUP a specialised orthopaedic rehabilitation care team closely monitors your progress on a daily basis.
Based on your personal health status, you receive 100% personalised guidance. This coaching is done using the moveUP app and a Garmin activity tracker.

Remote Personalised Care Plan
Within the messenger function you can communicate directly with your care team. All messages are answered within 24 hours.
Every day you will receive an exercise plan. We adjust the plan based on your physical activity, pain levels and how well you feel.
The activity tracker counts the amount of steps you take. In the app you can check whether you're walking and resting enough.

1. Sign up by clicking on the button
Based on your answers, we can inform you how exactly we can help you. Completing the questionnaire does not oblige you to anything.
After receiving our email, you can decide to confirm your registration and be guided with moveUP.
2. Receive an introduction to moveUP
You will be guided in installing and getting familiar with the moveUP app and the step counter.
This introduction can take place at an information session at your hospital, with your physiotherapist or online.
3. We help you prepare for your surgery
Two weeks prior to your surgery, start wearing the activity tracker that you've received from us.
Via the moveUP app, we help you to prepare for the surgery. This includes practical tips such as filling up your refrigerator but also exercises for pain management.
4. Day of your surgery
Your orthopaedic surgeon places your hip- or knee prothesis.
moveUP supports "day surgeries" for patients released from the hospital on the same day as their surgery.
5. Recover at home with 7/7 follow up
As of the moment you leave the hospital we take full care of your recovery treatment plan.
Our daily rehabilitation care includes management of (pain) medication, physical activity and your sense of well-being.
6. Visit your surgeon for check up consultations
When your care team deems necessary, a physical consultation with your physiotherapist, GP or surgeon is planned.
As custom, your orthopaedic surgeon invites you for a standard check-up around week 7 after your surgery.
7. Reach your health goal!
We guide you to reach your personal health goal.
To give your surgeon insight into your health status, the doctor may send you a medical questionnaire once or twice a year.

1. How do I enroll?
Click on Sign up and answer the 3 questions. Doing this does not oblige you to anything. Based on your answers, we put together a care team especially for you. You are introduced to the care team upon which you can decide to confirm your registration and be guided with moveUP.
2. How safe is treatment with moveUP?
moveUP as a product and treatment plan are recognised as a medical product and complies to strict European safety standards. This concerns the safety of patients health and patient data privacy. Read more about our safety certificates and practices.
3. How much does moveUP cost?
The moveUP treatment plan is, apart from standard co-payment, fully reimbursed by Belgian mutuality funds. We're having talks with Dutch health insurance companies to cover our treatment in The Netherlands.
The standard cost of the full moveUP treatment plan is €45 per week. Participants of medical studies with moveUP, receive our treatment free of charge. Read more about the costs and reimbursement.
4. Can be guided by my own physiotherapist or orthopaedic surgeon?
Yes, in case your physiotherapist and surgeon agree to it. During the pre-registering process we ask you for the name and contact details of your preferred clinicians, if applicable.
5. I don't have a smart phone / tablet or don't know how to work with apps ?
The moveUP app is highly user friendly even for those without computer skills. If you can handle the remote control of a TV, you can work with our app. The satisfaction of a group of patients age 65-88 rated the moveUP app with the maximum of 5 stars.
