Find your therapist [heading 2]

The mHealthBelgium initiative was launched by the government in 2018. mhealth has the intention to integrate mobile health apps in the Belgian healthcare system.

moveUP is the first application that has gone through the complete ‘validation pyramid' of mHealthBelgium. Having reached the top of this pyramid makes moveUP eligible for reimbursement. At the moment a pilot study is ongoing.

moveUP is reimbursed

moveUP is reimbursed by the Belgian healthcare system, this includes:
- the moveUP app
- the step counter

- the services provided by the physiotherapist who treats the patient

The reimbursement – in the form of a convention – applies to the whole of Belgium and runs in two phases. Here you find a link to the page on the RIZIV website on the convention (Dutch/French).

Phase 1 (current)

15 hospitals will include patients in a study initiated by RIZIV and KCE. In total, more than thousand patients will be compared on their end result and use of care resources.

Phase 2

Reimbursement will be opened to every primary knee or hip prosthesis patient.
